American Exceptionalism

American exceptionalism, American greatness, and ultimately American goodness has contingencies. They’re contingent on knowing the truth. The whole truth. Nothing but the truth. The truth has to include, the good, the bad and the ugly. All of it. Period. Not cherry picked platitudes. Not scrubbed and, dare I say, whitewashed feel good and narrow viewed stories that don’t share the entire picture. We, as a whole, can’t be afraid to embrace the whole and, finally, eventually, the complete story. America has never been perfect. That was recognized from the beginning.
